Carlton Cannes, a Regent Hotel
Cannes, France
Best overallBuilt in 1911, the hotel overlooks the bay on the Boulevard Croisette and features its own private beach, pier and Belle Epoque façade. It is situated 800 metres from the Palais des Festivals, in…
Why this position
Among the three highest guest scores of the 14 hotels we rank here: 9.5 from 828 reviews. Leads the ranking: a higher guest score than #2 (9.5 to 9.3).

Le Mas Candille
Cannes, France
Spa & wellnessLe Mas Candille is a place to slow down above the coast rather than in the middle of it… The hotel stands in Mougins, in the hills behind Cannes, and an easy walk takes you into the old village. Guests describe the setting as spectacular and the public spaces as immaculate, and they praise the comfortable rooms and beds and a team that is welcoming, professional and attentive to small details. The 500 m² Spa by Clarins, with its 25-metre heated pool, sauna and steam room, gives the stay a clear focus on relaxation. There are a few gaps for a hotel of this standard. The pool bar closes at 6 pm, one guest felt that keeping a single restaurant open limited the choice, and another found the wi-fi weak in places. Rates can also climb steeply during major events on the Riviera. Cannes and the beaches are not within walking distance, so a car or taxi is part of the plan.
Why this position
Among the three highest guest scores of the 14 hotels we rank here: 9.3 from 280 reviews. Sits behind #1 on both the score (9.3 to 9.5) and the sample it rests on (280 to 828 reviews).

Villa Miraé by Inwood Hotels - Cap d'Antibes
Cannes, France
BeachVilla Miraé suits travellers who want the French Riviera at a slower pace… It sits on Cap d'Antibes rather than in Cannes, in a Mediterranean-style villa where rooms and suites open onto balconies or terraces above the garden or pool. Guests return to the same impressions: the place feels private and almost residential, the rooms are spotless and newly designed, and the service is personal enough that one guest's birthday was marked with a small surprise. The two restaurants, Amarines for gastronomic cooking and Miraé for Mediterranean dishes, earn warm praise as well. The trade-offs are modest. Some guests would like more variety at breakfast, and the sun deck carries a separate charge. Because the hotel is out on the cape, Cannes and La Croisette are a drive or taxi ride away rather than a walk. If you want quiet, a sandy beach nearby and good food without leaving the property, it is a strong choice.
Why this position
Among the three highest guest scores of the 14 hotels we rank here: 9.3 from 109 reviews. The same guest score as #2 (9.3), on a smaller body of reviews (109 to 280).

Luxury hotels in Cannes – 3 details you did not know

Château de Théoule Hôtel & Spa
Cannes, France
ViewsChâteau de Théoule Hôtel & Spa is for travellers who want to wake up by the water rather than in the city… It lies in Théoule-sur-Mer, west of Cannes, with direct access to the beach and views across the bay towards Cannes. Guests describe the setting as stunning and keep praising the pool above the sea, the comfortable beds, the bright rooms and staff who go out of their way to make a stay special. The food in the restaurants draws warm comments, as do the breakfast and the beach club, and the spa adds a sauna, hammam and hot tub for slower days. The beach is also where most of the criticism falls. Sunbeds there are charged even for hotel guests, and one guest found the loungers crammed together and the beach staff less helpful than those in the hotel. The entrance to some room buildings can feel awkward, and guests call a stay here a splurge. For a polished seaside stay with a spa, it delivers.
Why this position
Rests on more guest reviews than #3 (347 to 109), at a slightly lower score (9.1 to 9.3).

Maison Carla Rosa Cannes
Cannes, France
Affordable luxuryMaison Carla Rosa Cannes is for travellers who care about design and want a little distance from the bustle of the centre… It stands on Boulevard Alexandre III at Pointe Croisette, at the far end of La Croisette, with a pool that is open all year, a garden and balconies for sitting out. Guests are almost unanimous about the cleanliness, the bright and carefully styled rooms and the welcome, from fruit and a bottle of rosé on arrival to a manager many mention by name. The larger apartments work well for families and groups of friends. The location is the main thing to weigh up. Central Cannes is a 10 to 15 minute walk away, and some guests found it further than they had realised when booking. One group felt that housekeeping hurried them out of the room, and another would have liked a slightly larger living area. If you want a peaceful, stylish base close to the beach, it is an easy recommendation.
Why this position
Highest guest score of the 14 hotels we rank here: 9.7 from 133 reviews. Scores higher than #8 (9.7 to 8.9), on a smaller body of reviews (133 to 736).

Hôtel La Villa Cap d’Antibes
Cannes, France
BoutiqueHôtel La Villa Cap d’Antibes suits couples who want a stylish, relaxed base close to the sand… Despite the name, it stands in Juan-les-Pins rather than on the cape or in Cannes, a short walk from the main beaches, which guests often mention. The pool sits in a Mediterranean garden with a sun terrace and is heated from April to October, and champagne from the hotel's own vineyard is served beside it. Reviews keep returning to the tasteful, modern design, the comfortable beds, a warm welcome from helpful staff and a breakfast guests call delicious. The rooms are not large, although one guest's room had a lovely sea view, and another noted that there is no coffee machine in the room and coffee is charged. Arriving without a car can be awkward, so the free parking is a real advantage. Cannes lies further west along the coast. For a charming, well-run hotel near the beaches of Juan-les-Pins, it is an easy choice.
Why this position
Rests on more guest reviews than #9 (708 to 133), at a slightly lower score (9.2 to 9.7).

Hôtel La Villa Sainte Valérie Adults Only
Cannes, France
Hôtel La Villa Sainte Valérie is for travellers who want calm without giving up the beach… It is in Juan-les-Pins rather than Cannes, set on a quiet street around a Mediterranean garden, yet the beaches and the lively centre are only 100 metres away. Guests talk most about that garden and the pool, heated from April to October, and about rooms that are spacious, bright and individually decorated, most of them looking over the pool or garden. The staff come across as warm and caring, and the fresh breakfast is a recurring highlight. First impressions can be quieter than the rest of the stay: one guest found the reception small and plain before the hotel won them over. Lunch options are limited, and the card system for pool towels is not to everyone's taste. Cannes lies further west along the coast, so La Croisette is a trip rather than a stroll. As a peaceful garden base within walking distance of the sand, it works very well.
Why this position
The same guest score as #10 (9.2), on a smaller body of reviews (443 to 708).

Staybridge Suites Cannes Centre
Cannes, France
Staybridge Suites Cannes Centre is a practical choice for travellers who want room to spread out in the middle of Cannes… The station is 400 metres away and La Croisette 500 metres, and every room has air conditioning, a fridge, a desk and a balcony facing south or towards the hills. Guests return again and again to the same points: rooms that are spotless, spacious and quiet, a breakfast buffet many describe as outstanding, and staff who go out of their way to help. Several also mention good value for the location. The hotel sits on a slope above the centre, so the walk back from the beach and the seafront restaurants is uphill, and some guests found it further than they expected. A few did not get the room they had asked for, and one found the pillows uncomfortable. For couples, families and business travellers who want a clean, well-run base rather than a beach hotel, it works well.
Why this position
Rests on more guest reviews than #11 (1,687 to 443), at a slightly lower score (9.1 to 9.2).

La Bastide de l'Oliveraie
Cannes, France
Peace and quietLa Bastide de l'Oliveraie feels like a retreat on the edge of central Cannes… It sits in a garden of olive trees near La Californie, about 1 km from the city centre, and the infinity pool and rooftop hot tubs with views of the Mediterranean are where guests spend much of the day. Reviews describe a charming, traditionally run family hotel with friendly staff, a good breakfast and large rooms with big glass doors, plenty of storage and, in some cases, a kitchenette that families find especially useful. The quiet setting has a practical cost. Public transport links to the rest of Cannes are limited, and in the summer heat some guests ended up taking taxis rather than walking. Parking is charged on top of the room rate, which a few felt was steep. Travellers after calm, space and a pool near La Croisette will be happy here; anyone without a car who wants to be on the seafront should look closer in.
Why this position
The same guest score as #12 (9.1), on a smaller body of reviews (614 to 1,687).

Mondrian Cannes
Cannes, France
On the famous Boulevard de la Croisette, just 550 metres from Palais des Festivals, the Mondrian Cannes has 75 rooms and suites overlooking the sea or city. The hotel offers a unique culinary…
Why this position
Rests on more guest reviews than #13 (742 to 614), at a slightly lower score (8.9 to 9.1).

How we chose these hotels
At our latest review (August 2026) the properties listed above were measured against the same standard: sustained guest scores on both Booking.com and Google (weighted by how many reviews sit behind them), five-star class or an equivalent premium level, a genuinely first-rate location, and facilities that set the hotel apart.
As a guideline we look for around 8.5 or higher on Booking.com, but no single number decides on its own. When the sources disagree, the broader evidence wins. Guest scores on this page update continuously, and the selection is re-reviewed at regular intervals. The full standard is described in how we choose hotels.
