How to save money on Hurtigruten cruises▼
There are plenty of ways to bring the cost of your dream Hurtigruten voyage down. Early planners and keen deal-hunters alike have real opportunities to find excellent prices on both short breaks and longer itineraries. Here's our pick of the best tips for getting a discount with Hurtigruten.
Sign up to the newsletter
One of the easiest ways to stay in the loop when Hurtigruten runs promotions is to sign up to their newsletter. New subscribers often receive a welcome voucher worth 500 kr as a bonus. You'll also get early access to seasonal sales and special offers before they're made available to the general public.
Travel in the off-season
As with most travel companies, Hurtigruten's prices vary considerably depending on the time of year. Fares tend to peak during the summer months and over the Christmas and New Year period. Opting to travel in the off-season (such as October to November or January to March) can make a significant difference to what you pay, with discounts of up to 25% not uncommon during these quieter periods.
Join the 1893 Ambassador Club
Hurtigruten's loyalty scheme, the 1893 Ambassador Club, gives members access to exclusive deals and a range of perks, including:
5% off all cruises
Priority access to promotions and special offers
Complimentary cabin upgrades, subject to availability
Additional benefits on board
Take advantage of the student discount
Students with a valid student card can get 10% off selected cruises, and the discount also applies to fellow passengers sharing the same cabin. Just remember to bring your student ID when you check in, as you'll need it to validate the offer.
Book early or last minute
The best prices tend to fall at either end of the booking window. Book at least six months ahead and you could save up to 20%. At the other extreme, those with a bit of flexibility and a spontaneous streak can sometimes snap up last-minute deals with discounts of up to 50% off the standard price.
