I amsterdam Discount Codes & Deals
I amsterdam is the official city platform of Amsterdam, run by amsterdam&partners, and it sells the I amsterdam City Card and the Canal Cruise Ticket directly on iamsterdam.com. The City Card gives you free or discounted entry to more than 70 museums and attractions, one canal cruise, a day of bike rental and, with the Total Experience version, unlimited GVB buses, trams and metro. A discount code is not published on iamsterdam.com, and the card terms say its discounts cannot be combined with other promotions. The saving comes from the card itself: on 28 October 2026 a 1-day Total Experience card cost €67 for adults and €40 for children aged 4 to 17, with longer cards cheaper per day, and an Explorer card with three activities started at €44. You can cancel an online order for a full refund until you activate the card. Below are the current options with their conditions and the date we checked them on iamsterdam.com.

How to save with the I amsterdam City Card▼
- Count your attractions first. If you only want two or three, the Explorer card from €44 may cost less than the Total Experience card.
- Buy a longer card if you are staying longer. A 5-day adult card costs €140, which works out at €28 a day against €67 for a single day.
- Add children's cards with an adult card. Cards for ages 4 to 17 start at €40 for a day, but cannot be bought on their own.
- Activate only when you are ready. The card starts on first use, and an online order can be cancelled for a full refund until then.
- Book time slots where needed. Most locations need no booking, but some do, and some charge extra for special exhibitions.
- Only want a boat trip? The Canal Cruise Ticket costs €17 for adults and €8.50 for children and stays valid for a year.
How we assess I amsterdam offers▼
Official offer means the product or condition appears on iamsterdam.com or in the City Card terms published there, and we read it on the date given on each offer. We take prices and conditions only as I amsterdam states them. Codes from forums or other sites are not published here.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there an I amsterdam City Card discount code?▼
No. iamsterdam.com does not publish a discount or promo code for the City Card, and there is no first-order code on the site. The City Card terms state that promotions and discounts offered with the card cannot be combined with other promotions or discounts. What the site does offer is lower prices for children aged 4 to 17, a cheaper per-day price on longer cards, the Explorer card if you only want a few attractions, and a full refund on online orders as long as the card has not been activated. If I amsterdam publishes a real code on its own site, we will add it here with the source and date.
How much does the I amsterdam City Card cost?▼
On 28 October 2026 iamsterdam.com listed the Total Experience card for adults at €67 for 1 day, €94 for 2 days, €115 for 3 days, €130 for 4 days and €140 for 5 days. Children aged 4 to 17 paid €40, €57, €69, €78 and €84. The Explorer card, without public transport, cost €44, €69 or €95 for adults for 3, 5 or 7 activities, and €29, €39 or €49 for children. The order form also lets you see prices in pounds.
Which City Card should I choose: Total Experience or Explorer?▼
The Total Experience card covers all City Card locations for 24 to 120 consecutive hours and includes GVB public transport. The Explorer card lets you pick 3, 5 or 7 activities within 5 days, without public transport, and is only available digitally. Some locations give Explorer holders 25% off without using one of your included visits. If you plan two or three museums and walk everywhere, Explorer is usually cheaper; for several busy days with trams and a canal cruise, the Total Experience card covers more.
Are the Van Gogh Museum and Anne Frank House included?▼
No. Neither the Explorer nor the Total Experience card includes the Van Gogh Museum or the Anne Frank House. I amsterdam recommends booking tickets for both early, directly on their own websites. The Rijksmuseum, Moco Museum, NEMO, A'dam Lookout, ARTIS and the Stedelijk Museum are among the included locations.
Can I cancel the City Card?▼
Yes, until you activate it. If you bought the card online at iamsterdam.com, you can cancel for any reason before activation by using the cancellation form or emailing citycard@iamsterdam.com, and all costs of the order are refunded. The FAQ says refunds arrive within 10 business days. Once a card is activated, it cannot be cancelled. A digital card bought in 2026 can be activated up to and including 31 December 2027.
How does Tripplo check these offers?▼
We read every offer above on iamsterdam.com and in the City Card terms on the date shown and note the conditions. We only publish codes that I amsterdam itself publishes; we do not copy codes from forums or other coupon sites. When a price or offer changes on iamsterdam.com, we update it here.
