In short: We checked more than fifty hotels on Menorca. Thirteen are adults-only according to their own website and made the list: town hotels in Ciutadella and Mahón, seaside hotels at Cala'n Bosch, Cala en Blanes, Cala Galdana and Es Castell, and five country hotels inland.
Menorca's adults-only hotels are spread across the whole island.
Some occupy old buildings in the centres of Ciutadella and Mahón, others sit by the sea at Cala'n Bosch, Cala en Blanes, Cala Galdana and Es Castell, and five are country hotels: farm estates and 17th-century houses among olive groves and fields, where a pool and a quiet garden take the place of the beach.

1Agroturismo Llucasaldent Gran Menorca - Adults Only

Why this rank: A working olive farm and vineyard on the road from Alaior to Son Bou, turned into a small hotel for guests aged 18 and over; its family-friendly sister house is a separate property. Two pools, one beside the vineyard, are shared by a dozen rooms, and dinners are served on a terrace facing the sea. Guests praise warm hosts, excellent breakfasts and dinners, and spotless rooms.
2Agroturismo Son Vives Menorca - Adults Only

Why this rank: A family-run agroturismo with 12 rooms on a hill outside Ferreries, beside a working farm with its own cheese dairy. Its own website says the hotel is only for adults; it publishes no exact age, and other sources disagree, so we give none. Guests praise wide views over the hills to the sea, a breakfast of local produce and warm, attentive hosts.
3Hotel Rural Biniarroca - Adults Only
Menorca, Spain
Why this rank: A 17th-century farmhouse near Sant Lluís, a short drive from Mahón, that calls itself adults-only on its own website and takes guests from 16. Two pools sit in quiet, shaded gardens, and massages can be booked. Guests praise long-serving, attentive staff, gardens full of bougainvillea and tortoises, and a very good breakfast and restaurant.
4Amagatay Luxury Boutique Hotel - Adults Only
Menorca, Spain
Why this rank: An Annua Hotels farm estate (formerly Antic Menorca) of more than 30 hectares among olive trees, on the road from Alaior to Cala en Porter, with 20 individually decorated rooms. The brand's website states it is for guests over 16, and the large pool has its own restaurant, with massages on offer. Guests praise friendly staff, the peaceful setting and fresh food with produce from the farm.
5Petit Sagitario Adults only

Why this rank: A modern hotel by the quiet bay of Cala en Blanes, on the edge of Ciutadella, designed for guests aged 16 and over according to its own website. Its adults-only Ona Spa has a heated pool, sauna, hot tub and steam room, alongside an outdoor pool. Guests praise spotless rooms, a welcoming reception, a generous breakfast buffet and a small beach a few minutes away.
6Sindic Hotel - Adults Only

Why this rank: An eight-room town house on Carrer de Sant Roc in Mahón that presents itself as adults-only on its own website; children are not accepted, and the minimum age on Booking is 18. A rooftop pool looks out over the city, and an honesty bar keeps things relaxed. Guests praise warm, professional staff, quiet and very clean rooms, and a handy base for exploring Mahón on foot.

Why this rank: A restored historic building in Ciutadella's old town, near the cathedral, marked adults only 16+ on its own website. Ten deluxe rooms share a pool that is open all year and a self-service honesty bar. Guests praise the central location, spotless and spacious rooms, a breakfast with vegetarian and vegan options, and staff who lend beach umbrellas and towels.
8ARTIEM Audax - Adults Only

Why this rank: Set in a nature reserve above Cala Galdana, 200 metres from the beach, this is one of ARTIEM's two adults-only hotels on Menorca, with a minimum age of 18 on Booking. The Blue Spa has three indoor pools and saunas at extra cost, while the gym is free. Guests praise the short walk to the beach, sea views over the bay, generous buffets and a helpful sports team.
9Lago Resort Menorca - Suites del Lago Adults Only

Why this rank: A five-star eco-hotel by the marina at Cala'n Bosch, about 100 metres from the beach, which its own website describes as adults-only; guests must be 16 or over. Lago Resort also has family hotels, but they are separate properties. There is a saltwater thalasso pool, a spa and suites with private pools. Guests praise an outstanding breakfast, generous staff and spacious, well-designed rooms.
10Bordoy Casa Ládico - Hotel Boutique Adults Only

Why this rank: A Bordoy boutique hotel in a 19th-century building in central Mahón, about 500 metres from the harbour, adults-only by its own website and 18+ in its Booking conditions. It has a garden pool with a terrace and a spa suite for guests aged 16 and over. Guests praise the location near the market, attentive staff, a delicious breakfast and a stylish, peaceful house.
11ARTIEM Carlos - Adults Only

Why this rank: On a small bay in Es Castell, next to Mahón, the other ARTIEM adults-only hotel on the island takes guests from 18 according to Booking. A seawater pool looks out to sea, and there is a spa and wellness area and a gym. Guests praise wide sea views, warm staff, a fresh breakfast buffet and the walk to the restaurants of Cales Fonts harbour.
12Lago Resort Menorca - Casas del Lago Adults Only

Why this rank: Lago Resort's other adults-only hotel looks over the Cala'n Bosch marina, with the beach across the road, and takes guests aged 18 and over according to Booking. It has direct access to the Arena Beach Club, a pool with a swim-up bar and cabanas, a spa and a gym. Guests praise friendly staff, an excellent breakfast with plenty of choice and spacious, spotless modern rooms.
13Morvedra Nou Luxury Boutique Hotel - Adults Only
Menorca, Spain
Why this rank: An Annua Hotels country house from the 17th century on the road to Macarella, 7 km from Ciutadella, with 26 suites for guests over 16. The pool has a restaurant for hotel guests only, some rooms have their own pool, and yoga and massages are offered. Guests praise warm staff, beautiful gardens, an excellent breakfast and a sunset bar at the end of the day.

How we chose and ordered the hotels
We checked more than fifty hotels, agroturismos and boutique hotels across Menorca, from Ciutadella in the west to Mahón and Sant Lluís in the east. Thirteen made the list. They are ordered by guest score, from the highest down; the scores decide the order only, and we do not print them.
Many of the island's adults-only stays are small four-star country and town hotels, so four-star properties are included; five of the thirteen are five-star. Lago Resort at Cala'n Bosch appears twice because Suites del Lago and Casas del Lago are two separate adults-only hotels, apart from the resort's family accommodation. Where we give a minimum age, it comes from the hotel's own website or, if the hotel publishes none, from the conditions it has set on Booking. Booking was used for that and nothing else. For Son Vives the sources disagree on the exact age, so we give none.
A hotel had to state on its own website that it is adults-only. It also had to be closed to guests under 16 or have an explicit adults-only policy for the whole property. Hotels that only set an age limit of 12, 13 or 14, and adults-only areas inside family hotels, do not count.
Where to stay: Ciutadella, Mahón, the south coast or the countryside?
Ciutadella and the west have four of the hotels. Seranova is in Ciutadella's old town, a few steps from the cathedral, and Petit Sagitario sits by the small bay of Cala en Blanes, a short taxi ride from the centre. Further south-west, Suites del Lago and Casas del Lago share the marina at Cala'n Bosch, with the beach across the road and restaurants on foot. The airport is about 55 km away, at the other end of the island.
Mahón and Es Castell in the east have three. Sindic and Casa Ládico are town hotels in Mahón (Maó), the island's capital, close to the market and the harbour, and only a few kilometres from the airport. ARTIEM Carlos is on a small bay in Es Castell, next door to Mahón, within walking distance of the restaurants at Cales Fonts harbour. There is no sandy beach in town; Punta Prima and Binibeca are about 10 km away.
The south coast has ARTIEM Audax, in a nature reserve above the bay of Cala Galdana and 200 metres from the beach. Further east, the long sandy beach at Son Bou lies below Alaior and is the nearest one for two of the country hotels.
The countryside has five. Llucasaldent Gran Menorca and Amagatay are farm estates outside Alaior, in the middle of the island, within reach of Son Bou. Son Vives stands on a hill near Ferreries with views to the sea, Biniarroca is an old farmhouse near Sant Lluís, a short drive from Mahón, and Morvedra Nou is a country house 7 km from Ciutadella on the road to the southern coves. Plan on a car for all five. Note, however, that many Menorca hotels are seasonal and close for part of the year, so check opening dates if you travel outside summer.
Hotels we reviewed but left out
- Villa Le Blanc on Santo Tomás beach: five-star, but it runs a kids club and has family rooms, so any adults-only spaces sit inside a family hotel.
- Meliá Cala Galdana: an adults-only area inside a family hotel with a kids club.
- Riviera Hotel Menorca and Hotel Boutique Can Sastre in Ciutadella: sold to adults, but they take children from 14.
- Agroturismo Malbuger Nou, Agroturismo Ses Talaies and Hotel Sant Ignasi: rural hotels that accept teenagers from 14.
- Jardí de Ses Bruixes and Can Alberti 1740: children from 12.
- Torralbenc and Cristine Bedfor Mahón: five-star, but they welcome children.
- Gran Sagitario: Petit Sagitario's sister hotel at Cala en Blanes, but a family hotel.
- Barceló Hamilton, AluaSoul Menorca and Valentin Star Menorca: adults-only, but below our guest-score floor.
- Divina Suites: adults-only, but with too few guest reviews to place it fairly.
- Hotel S'Antiga in Es Mercadal: adults-only, but a small unclassified town hotel outside the luxury segment we cover.
A pattern worth knowing: on Menorca, several hotels that call themselves adults-only let in teenagers from 14. We only count hotels that keep out guests under 16 or apply an adults-only policy to the whole property.
