Hotel Villa Brunella
Amalfi Coast, Italy
Adults onlyHotel Villa Brunella is built for couples who come to Capri for the view and the quiet… It is a small, family-run adults-only hotel on Via Tragara, away from the busiest lanes, and its pool deck looks straight out over Marina Piccola and the sea. Guests return again and again to the same points: staff who make them feel at home, rooms that are spacious and carefully decorated, and good food on the terrace at L'Agave. The trade-offs are modest but real. Via Roma is about 900 metres away, so evenings in town end with a walk home that one guest found rather dark. Drinks are pricey even for Capri, and one bathroom struck a guest as old-fashioned. The hotel is seasonal, like most on the island. Couples who want peace, a pool with a view and personal service will feel well looked after here; families with children cannot stay.

Positano & Praiano
Best for Dramatic coastal viewsThese vertical clifftop towns offer steep streets, pebbled beaches, and direct sea access. They are highly sought after for classic panoramas of the coastline.
Amalfi, Ravello & the East
Best for History and hilltop retreatsCombining the historic port of Amalfi and the high-altitude gardens of Ravello, this central stretch offers historic architecture and wide gulf views.
Sorrento Peninsula
Best for Convenient regional travelFacing the Bay of Naples, these towns sit on flat clifftops with reliable road and rail connections to Pompeii and Naples. They provide an excellent base for broader sightseeing while maintaining sea vistas.
Areas to consider
Visitors should note that Ravello sits high above the shoreline with no direct beach access, meaning a winding drive or steep walk is required to reach the sea.

How we chose these hotels
At our latest review (August 2026) the properties listed above were measured against the same standard: sustained guest scores on both Booking.com and Google (weighted by how many reviews sit behind them), five-star class or an equivalent premium level, a genuinely first-rate location, and facilities that set the hotel apart.
As a guideline we look for around 8.5 or higher on Booking.com, but no single number decides on its own. When the sources disagree, the broader evidence wins. Guest scores on this page update continuously, and the selection is re-reviewed at regular intervals. The full standard is described in how we choose hotels.
