Villa Copenhagen
Copenhagen, Denmark
Best overallVilla Copenhagen in Copenhagen offers a 5-star hotel experience with a fitness centre, sun terrace, and lush garden. Guests enjoy free WiFi, a restaurant, bar, and private check-in and check-out…
Why this position
Highest guest score of the 17 hotels we rank here: 9.3 from 1,334 reviews. Leads the ranking: a higher guest score than #2 (9.3 to 9.0).

NH Collection Copenhagen
Copenhagen, Denmark
NH Collection Copenhagen suits travellers who want to see the city on foot from a comfortable, well-run base… It stands on Strandgade in Christianshavn, and guests repeatedly describe the location as excellent, with the restaurants and coffee shops of the centre within walking distance. Rooms are spacious and air-conditioned, many with a view over the city or the water, and guests often mention how clean they are. The breakfast earns consistent praise, as do the staff, who come across as helpful and friendly from check-in onwards. The weaker points lie mostly in the evening offer. Dinner in the restaurant gets mixed comments, and some guests found the bar and restaurant teams less coordinated than the rest of the hotel. There is only one restaurant, so variety means heading out, which the location makes easy. Several guests also note that the stay is expensive. Couples and city-breakers who put location, breakfast and service first will find it a reliable choice.
Why this position
The largest body of guest feedback on this page: 5,651 reviews, averaging 9.0. Rests on more guest reviews than #1 (5,651 to 1,334), at a slightly lower score (9.0 to 9.3).

Park Lane Copenhagen
Copenhagen, Denmark
Peace and quietPark Lane Copenhagen is a boutique hotel for travellers who would rather stay just outside the city than in the middle of it… It sits on Strandvejen in Hellerup, north of the centre, with Øregårdsparken directly opposite, the Øresund a short walk away and shops, cafés and bars nearby. Guests describe the setting as quiet and the mood as calm, and they keep coming back to the staff, who are called charming, accommodating and genuinely welcoming. The design and decor earn praise too, and the rooms are comfortable, with windows that open. The compromises are size and distance. Several guests find the rooms and bathrooms somewhat small, and the city centre is about 10 minutes away by car, so sightseeing takes a little planning; bicycles can be hired at the hotel. Opinions on the food vary, with some finding breakfast less impressive than its price. Couples and repeat visitors who value calm and personal service will feel at home here.
Why this position
Among the three highest guest scores of the 17 hotels we rank here: 9.1 from 203 reviews. Scores higher than #2 (9.1 to 9.0), on a smaller body of reviews (203 to 5,651).

25hours Hotel Paper Island
Copenhagen, Denmark
Views25hours Hotel Paper Island is for travellers who want a hotel with personality and a location that invites exploring… It sits on Papirøen in Christianshavn, less than 1 km from the Church of Our Saviour, and guests single out the position again and again, along with the view over the canal and how quiet it is. The decor is described as funky and the rooms as modern, clean and well equipped. Staff earn warm words for friendly, helpful service, and the restaurant, which serves Asian and European dishes with vegetarian and vegan options, also gets good feedback. There are a few practical points to know. The building is A-shaped, so rooms become smaller the higher up you go. Breakfast can feel disorganised, room numbers can be hard to spot in the corridors, and some guests find the stay a little expensive. Couples and friends who enjoy design and want to explore the waterfront on foot will be well placed here.
Why this position
Among the three highest guest scores of the 17 hotels we rank here: 9.1 from 1,551 reviews. Scores higher than #7 (9.1 to 9.0), on a smaller body of reviews (1,551 to 4,650).

71 Nyhavn Hotel
Copenhagen, Denmark
DiningHoused in 2 converted warehouses from the 1800s, this hotel is found in the lively Nyhavn District. It features a continental breakfast and rooms with free WiFi and flat-screen TVs…
Why this position
Among the three highest guest scores of the 17 hotels we rank here: 9.1 from 1,764 reviews. Level with #8 on the guest score (9.1) and on the reviews behind it.

Hypernym Hotel & Suites
Copenhagen, Denmark
Hypernym Hotel & Suites is a good match for travellers who want room to live in rather than just a place to sleep… From Studiestræde, Tivoli Gardens is a three-minute walk, the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek is 700 metres away and Central Station is seven minutes on foot, with the Round Tower and Rosenborg Castle also within walking distance. Guests praise the comfortable beds, the simple Danish design and the cleanliness, and those in the suites value the extra space and practical touches such as a washing machine and dryer. Rooms have air conditioning and soundproofing, and the staff are described as friendly and accommodating. The compromises are small but worth knowing. This is not an inexpensive stay, although guests generally feel they get what they pay for. Breakfast offers few gluten-free options, and the occasional shower drains slowly. For longer city breaks, or anyone who likes a well-equipped suite in the middle of things, it is a comfortable pick.
Why this position
Among the three highest guest scores of the 17 hotels we rank here: 9.1 from 644 reviews. The same guest score as #9 (9.1), on a smaller body of reviews (644 to 1,764).

Hotel Kong Arthur
Copenhagen, Denmark
Spa & wellnessHotel Kong Arthur pairs a central address with a quieter setting… The building dates from 1882 and faces the city lakes, while Torvehallerne, Nørreport and the main sights are all within walking distance. Guests describe the staff as warm and the shared spaces as cosy and carefully designed, and the organic Nordic breakfast buffet is a highlight. After a day on foot, the Ni'Mat Spa offers a sauna, hot tub and relaxation area, and there is no need to go far for dinner with La Rocca, Pintxos and Sticks'n'Sushi on site. The drawbacks show up in the rooms. Some are small, with double beds narrower than many expect, and some rooms have no air conditioning, which matters on warm days. Rooms facing the street can be loud at night, even on upper floors, and there are a few steps up to the entrance to manage with luggage. For a calm, comfortable stay close to the centre, it remains a strong option.
Why this position
Rests on more guest reviews than #10 (4,858 to 644), at a slightly lower score (9.0 to 9.1).

Zoku Copenhagen
Copenhagen, Denmark
Zoku Copenhagen is built for guests who want more than a bedroom… It is an apartment hotel in Amager Vest, about 2.6 km from Copenhagen Central Station, and its 160 Lofts combine a raised sleeping area with a living room, kitchen and a large table for four, which suits remote work and longer stays alike. Guests love the design and the attention to detail, and many mention the open shared area on the fifth floor, the co-working spaces and access to laundry rooms. Staff are described as friendly and helpful, and the metro nearby makes it easy to reach the rest of the city. The trade-off is location. The hotel is some way from the historic centre, and when its own restaurant is closed there are few places to eat within walking distance. Breakfast divides opinion: some praise the vegan options, others find the choice limited. Remote workers, longer-stay guests and travellers who like to cook will feel at home.
Why this position
The same guest score as #11 (9.0), on a smaller body of reviews (3,775 to 4,858).

Andersen Boutique Hotel
Copenhagen, Denmark
Andersen Boutique Hotel suits travellers who want a stylish, well-run base within easy reach of the trains… It sits in Vesterbro, about 200 metres from Copenhagen Central Station, and its rooms combine Designers Guild décor with soundproofed windows and Molton Brown toiletries. Guests talk most about the staff, who are quick with tips on what to see, and about the breakfast. Small touches add up too: free Nespresso coffee and organic tea in the lobby around the clock, a glass of wine in the evening and bicycles to rent for a day in the city. The trade-offs come with room size and location. Some rooms are tight, with little space to put things down in the bathroom, and rooms near the street can pick up noise from people walking to the station late at night. The immediate streets are practical rather than charming, although the rest of Vesterbro is close by. If you value service and convenience over space, it works well.
Why this position
The same guest score as #12 (9.0), on a smaller body of reviews (1,857 to 3,775).

Boutique Hotel Hans
Copenhagen, Denmark
Boutique Hotel Hans is built around its shared spaces… Set between Frederiksberg and Nørrebro, it has a speakeasy bar, an urban terrace with a lounge and a large restaurant, and every guest is welcome at the free Wine Hour in the afternoon and the Nightcap Hour later on. Guests return again and again to the breakfast, which is organic and full of local and homemade products, from fresh smoothies to barista coffee, and to staff they describe as friendly and helpful. The 91 rooms are stylish and full of character, and the streets around the hotel are busy with bars, cafés and restaurants, with the Metro close by. The weak points are practical. Several guests found the wardrobe space limited once they stayed beyond a weekend, and the smaller room types fit two people and their suitcases but not much more. Check-out could also be a little later. For a sociable, well-fed stay away from the busiest tourist streets, it is an easy choice.
Why this position
The same guest score as #13 (9.0), on a smaller body of reviews (1,181 to 1,857).

How we chose these hotels
At our latest review (August 2026) the properties listed above were measured against the same standard: sustained guest scores on both Booking.com and Google (weighted by how many reviews sit behind them), five-star class or an equivalent premium level, a genuinely first-rate location, and facilities that set the hotel apart.
As a guideline we look for around 8.5 or higher on Booking.com, but no single number decides on its own. When the sources disagree, the broader evidence wins. Guest scores on this page update continuously, and the selection is re-reviewed at regular intervals. The full standard is described in how we choose hotels.
