Proteas Blu Resort
Samos, Greece
Best overallLocated in Pythagoreio, this 40,000-m² complex overlooks a sheltered cove with two naturally secluded beaches. Guests enjoy free access to the tennis courts, indoor pool and fitness room…
Why this position
Leads the ranking on the weight of evidence: 266 reviews to #2's 9, although #2 scores higher (9.7 to 9.3).

Nirema Hotel & Spa Samos - MGallery Collection
Samos, Greece
Spa & wellnessNirema Hotel & Spa Samos - MGallery Collection is a new five-star address at Malagari, just outside Vathy, built around calm days at the hotel… Rooms open onto sea-view balconies, and there is an outdoor pool, a garden, a spa with a sauna and a fitness centre, plus two restaurants and a bar. The few guests who have reviewed it so far all speak warmly of the staff, and two single out the massages in the spa. The trade-offs are mostly about location and newness. The hotel is neither in town nor on the beach, so Roditses Beach, 2.8 km away, and the centre of Vathy call for a taxi or a car. Individual guests mentioned a disorganised breakfast service and a fairly narrow dinner menu, but with so little feedback it is too early to call these patterns. Couples after a quiet spa stay will find a promising base; travellers who want a long track record may prefer to wait.
Why this position
Scores higher than #1 (9.7 to 9.3), on a smaller body of reviews (9 to 266).

Doryssa Seaside Resort
Samos, Greece
BeachSituated in the southern part of Samos, next to the popular historical destination of Pythagorion, this superb 5-star resort offers a breathtaking view of the Aegean Sea…
Why this position
Rests on more guest reviews than #2 (558 to 9), at a slightly lower score (8.8 to 9.7).

Doryssa Theorem Hotel
Samos, Greece
Affordable luxuryDoryssa Theorem Hotel is built for couples who want to be in the thick of Pythagoreio without giving up a calm, modern room… The adults-only hotel sits a few steps from Tarsanas beach, with the harbour and its tavernas a couple of minutes' walk away, and guests keep returning to three things: the minimalist design, rooms kept spotless, and a breakfast with local dishes and fresh pancakes. The compromises are clear. There is no pool, only a hot tub in the small spa area, so beach days start with a short walk. Rooms on the garden or lower level have small windows and little view, and a few guests found twin beds where they expected a double. Ask for an upper floor with a balcony and confirm the bed type in advance. Do that, and it is an easy, stylish base for exploring Samos; if you picture lazy days by a hotel pool, look at a resort outside town.
Why this position
Scores higher than #3 (9.1 to 8.8), on a smaller body of reviews (521 to 558).

Casa Cook Samos - Adults only
Samos, Greece
Adults onlyCasa Cook Samos in Pythagoreio offers direct beachfront access with Potokaki Beach just metres away. Guests enjoy stunning sea views and easy access to local attractions such as the Natural History…
Why this position
Level with #4 on the guest score (9.1) and on the reviews behind it.

How we chose these hotels
At our latest review (August 2026) the properties listed above were measured against the same standard: sustained guest scores on both Booking.com and Google (weighted by how many reviews sit behind them), five-star class or an equivalent premium level, a genuinely first-rate location, and facilities that set the hotel apart.
As a guideline we look for around 8.5 or higher on Booking.com, but no single number decides on its own. When the sources disagree, the broader evidence wins. Guest scores on this page update continuously, and the selection is re-reviewed at regular intervals. The full standard is described in how we choose hotels.
