Areas drawn from our hotels' addresses and updated as the selection changes.
Palma and the Southwest Coast
Best for First-time visitorsThis region combines the historic capital city of Palma with upscale beachfront resorts and marinas stretching along the sheltered southwestern bays.
Northern and Northwest Mallorca
Best for Scenery and dramatic viewsDefined by the rugged Serra de Tramuntana mountains meeting the sea, this area offers dramatic cliffs, mountain villages, and wide sandy bays.
East and Northeast Coast
Best for Quiet coves and retreatsCharacterised by tranquil rolling hills, traditional rural towns, and a coastline punctuated by quiet sandy coves and small fishing harbours.
Areas to consider
Parts of Playa de Palma and Magaluf can be extremely busy and noisy during the summer season, which may not suit those seeking a tranquil retreat.

- Ikos Porto Petro
A recent opening that clears our quality bar, but its guest reviews are still too few for us to place it against the hotels we rank. We will look at it again once the sample has grown.

Each bar shows how a hotel's nightly price moved over the period, leaving out the most unusual days. The marker is its typical price.
Every hotel counts once, at its own typical price, so hotels we happened to check more often don't carry more weight. Prices are the lowest rate available for the whole stay, worked out per night in euros.

How we chose these hotels
At our latest review (August 2026) we compared 39 luxury and premium properties on Mallorca against the same standard: sustained guest scores on both Booking.com and Google (weighted by how many reviews sit behind them), five-star class or an equivalent premium level, a genuinely first-rate location, and facilities that set the hotel apart. 37 made the cut and are listed above.
As a guideline we look for around 8.5 or higher on Booking.com, but no single number decides on its own. When the two sources disagree, the broader evidence wins. That is why a hotel can be included despite a modest score in one channel, as explained below. Guest scores on this page update continuously, and the selection itself is re-reviewed at regular intervals. The full standard is described in how we choose hotels.
