Marriott's Marbella Beach Resort
Marbella, Spain
Marriott's Marbella Beach Resort is built for holidays where the apartment does as much work as the beach… It stands in gardens on the seafront in Marbella del Este, east of Marbella, with direct access to the sand, two indoor and two outdoor pools and a free fitness centre. Guests speak most warmly about the size and cleanliness of the apartments, each with a balcony, and families value the entertainment laid on for children. The trade-offs are mostly about food and atmosphere. Some guests found only one of the restaurants worth returning to and thought prices inside the resort were high, so it helps that local shops are a short walk or drive away. The family crowd also makes the outdoor jacuzzis busy, with just one indoor pool kept for adults. Families and golfers, with two courses within 3 km, will find a comfortable, well-kept base; couples after calm should look elsewhere.

ME by Meliá Marbella
Marbella, Spain
ME by Meliá Marbella works best for travellers who want a polished base close to the action of Puerto Banús… The marina is within walking distance and the beach is close by, yet the hotel backs onto greenery, and three outdoor pools and a 24-hour fitness centre fill the time in between. Guests speak most warmly about the staff, who come across as friendly and quick to help, and about rooms that are spacious, spotless and finished with care, each with its own balcony. The weaker points are mostly about dining. Breakfast wins praise, but some guests found the restaurant food simply fine, and others felt the restaurants could be presented more clearly. It is also a short walk to the sand rather than a beachfront stay. Couples on a special trip and anyone planning evenings around the marina will feel well looked after; those who want the beach on the doorstep should look elsewhere.
Why this position
Scores higher than #14 (8.9 to 8.8), on a smaller body of reviews (234 to 850).

Anfitrión Villas & Suites
Marbella, Spain
Anfitrión Villas & Suites is aimed at travellers who want privacy close to the bustle of Puerto Banús… It offers suites and villas with an outdoor saltwater pool that is open all year, with a garden, a sun terrace, a beauty salon, a fitness centre and yoga classes. Guests speak most warmly about the location, the spacious, beautifully finished suites and a 24-hour reception that comes across as warm and well informed, and private check-in sets a calm tone from the start. The drawbacks are small but worth knowing. One guest missed tea and coffee making facilities in the room, another found the plunge pool disappointing, and the beach at Nueva Andalucía is a short walk away rather than on the doorstep. Couples who value quiet, personal service and easy free parking will feel at home; travellers who want a full beach resort should look elsewhere.
Why this position
Guests rate it above #15 (8.9 to 8.9) and on more reviews (404 to 234).

The Golden Mile
Best for High-end resort livingThis prestigious stretch of coastline connects Marbella's old town to Puerto Banús, lined with exclusive estates and sub-tropical gardens. It is the premier destination for fine dining, beachside lounging, and legendary resort living.
Marbella Centre and Old Town
Best for Culture and diningOffering a mix of historic charm and seaside convenience, this area encompasses the whitewashed alleys of the Casco Antiguo and the bustling beachfront promenade. It is ideal for those who prefer to explore tapas bars and local boutiques on foot.
East Marbella
Best for Quiet sandy beachesLocated to the east of the town centre, this region, which takes in Elviria and Los Monteros, is known for having some of the finest natural sand dunes and golf courses in the municipality. It offers a more tranquil, relaxed atmosphere away from the bustling tourist hubs.
West of Marbella to Casares
Best for Golf and spa retreatsSituated further west towards Estepona and the foothills of Benahavís, this area provides expansive, self-contained resort estates. It is highly suited to travellers seeking championship golf, extensive spa facilities, and peaceful surroundings. At the far western end, in Casares, the estates sit about an hour's drive from Marbella.
Areas to consider
Avoid booking remote inland or hillside properties if you do not plan to rent a car, as relying solely on taxis for beach and dining trips can become highly expensive.

Each bar shows how a hotel's nightly price moved over the period, leaving out the most unusual days. The marker is its typical price.
Every hotel counts once, at its own typical price, so hotels we happened to check more often don't carry more weight. Prices are the lowest rate available for the whole stay, worked out per night in euros.

How we chose these hotels
At our latest review (August 2026) the properties listed above were measured against the same standard: sustained guest scores on both Booking.com and Google (weighted by how many reviews sit behind them), five-star class or an equivalent premium level, a first-rate location, and facilities that set the hotel apart.
As a guideline we look for around 8.5 or higher on Booking.com, but no single number decides on its own. When the sources disagree, the broader evidence wins. Guest scores on this page update continuously, and the selection is re-reviewed at regular intervals. The full standard is described in how we choose hotels.
