Kaya Side wins guests over with care rather than novelty… It sits right on the beach at Titreyengöl in Sorgun, with a private beach area that guests rate highly, and the word that comes up again and again is clean: the rooms, the pools and the grounds are all described as spotless and well kept. Above all, guests talk about the staff, praising the service as impeccable and the kitchen and service teams as hard-working. Four restaurants serve Dutch, British, French and Turkish dishes, and guests enjoy the entertainment. The trade-off is age. Several guests point out that the buildings are not new, and some found the showers and air conditioning dated. Wi-Fi coverage is patchy in places, and one guest was disappointed by a massage. For travellers who want a well-run beach holiday with attentive service, those are small compromises; anyone set on a newly built resort may want to look elsewhere.

Voyage Sorgun Hotel is a large beachfront resort for travellers who want everything within reach… It sits in the Sorgun pine forest with its own private beach area, and its spacious bungalows, eight pools, extensive spa, kids' club and eight restaurants mean there is little reason to leave. Guests speak most warmly about the staff, whom they describe as attentive and kind, especially towards children, and about the variety and quality of the food, served around the clock. Its size brings trade-offs. Some guests found the resort crowded and service slower when busy, the à la carte restaurants cost extra, and returning guests feel the main restaurant was better in earlier years, with food less fresh late in the evening. Families and couples who enjoy a large, full-service resort by the beach will be well looked after; travellers who want a small, quiet hotel should look elsewhere.

Selectum Family Comfort Side is built for families who want the beach and the pool in the same place… The resort in Kızılağaç, east of Side, has its own 200-metre sandy beach, and six water slides, two outdoor pools and an indoor pool keep children busy. What guests mention most, though, is the staff: service is described as exceptional, and guests feel genuinely looked after, from the welcome to a late check-out arranged on request. Food is available throughout the day, and one guest called the all-inclusive excellent. The food is also where opinions divide. Some guests found it only adequate or in need of more care, and the desserts did not please everyone. A few smaller points come up as well, such as a room in need of cosmetic repairs, very hard mattresses and sand left in a pool. For families who put the beach, the slides and attentive service first, it is a comfortable choice.

What guests come back to again and again is the staff: from reception to housekeeping and the kitchen, they describe the team as kind and attentive, and many found their rooms spotless and the beds very comfortable. The drawbacks are modest. Opinions on the food are more mixed than on the service, with some finding the meat overcooked, and one guest named the walk to the beach as a downside despite the beachfront access. Rooms can feel a little dim and the outdoor pool is seasonal. Couples and families who care most about warm service and a relaxed atmosphere will feel at home; travellers for whom dining is the centrepiece may want to look further.

Guests praise how clean and spacious the rooms are, all of them family rooms with balconies, and most enjoy the food in the restaurant and the snack area, which caters for halal, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free diets. The staff are described as friendly and smiling. The flip side is that this is a busy, lively place. At peak times the bars and coffee shop can build queues, there are no shops within walking distance and one guest noticed building work nearby. Opinions on the food variety differ, and one guest felt extras were pushed too often. For families who want a full day of slides, pools and shows, it is an easy choice; couples after peace and quiet should look elsewhere.

Guests talk most about the food, which they describe as delicious and changing daily, and about the clean, newly designed rooms and the friendly staff, the beach team in particular. The weak points are small but worth knowing. Rooms facing the pool hear music at night, the rules on reserving sunbeds were not enforced during some stays, and a few guests found reception cooler than the rest of the team. Couples and food-minded travellers who want comfort, good dining and the option of a walk into Side will be well looked after; light sleepers should ask for a room away from the pool.
