Why this position
Among the three highest guest scores of the 13 hotels we rank here: 9.4 from 1,655 reviews. Leads the ranking: a higher guest score than #2 (9.4 to 9.3).

Hyatt Centric Cairo West
Cairo, Egypt
FamiliesHyatt Centric Cairo West is for travellers who like a hotel with personality… It stands in Pyramids Heights Business Park on the Cairo–Alexandria Desert Road, in West Cairo, and guests keep returning to the art, the decoration and the architecture, along with an outdoor area that many single out. The building is new, the rooms are described as comfortable, and the staff are often thanked for being warm and helpful. Two pools, a pool bar, a sauna and five restaurants mean there is plenty to do without leaving. The address is the thing to weigh up. West Cairo is a drive from the Giza pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum, which suits sightseeing on that side of the city, but Downtown Cairo and the Nile are much further away. A few guests also mention low ceilings in a suite and small portions from room service. As a modern base on the western edge of Cairo it works well; for evenings in the old centre, stay closer in.

Hyatt Regency Cairo West
Cairo, Egypt
Spa & wellnessHyatt Regency Cairo West suits travellers who want comfort and space on the western side of Cairo… It sits at Km 22 on the Cairo–Alexandria Desert Road, in Pyramids Heights Business Park, and guests describe the Giza pyramids as a short taxi ride away. The staff are named again and again for their warmth, and when something goes wrong, guests say it is put right quickly. Breakfast is a highlight, gluten-free options included, and the large pool area, the spa with massages and the restaurant with Japanese and Peruvian dishes make it easy to spend an afternoon here. The setting is a business park beside a desert highway rather than a city street, and Downtown Cairo and the Nile are a long drive away. One guest also points out that the toilets are set unusually low, worth knowing if you find low seats awkward. For pyramid and museum days followed by a swim and a massage it fits well; for evenings in the old centre, look elsewhere.
Why this position
Scores higher than #3 (9.2 to 8.7), on a smaller body of reviews (1,749 to 3,450).

Why this position
Guests on Booking rate it above #5 (9.0 to 8.8), but #5 leads on Google (4.7 to 4.6), which the ranking weighs equally.

Waldorf Astoria Cairo Heliopolis
Cairo, Egypt
Waldorf Astoria Cairo Heliopolis suits travellers who value polish and calm over a central address… The hotel sits on Orouba Street in Heliopolis, near the international airport, and pairs a personal concierge service with spa suites, a pool with cabanas and several restaurants and bars. Guests talk most about the staff, who come across as warm and genuinely helpful, as well as the botanical lobby, the spacious rooms and an excellent breakfast. Several also note that the hotel rarely feels crowded. The location is the main trade-off. Heliopolis is a long way from the Giza pyramids and Downtown Cairo, so most sightseeing days begin with a taxi or a hired driver, and one guest missed having a beauty salon in the building. For a short stopover, a spa weekend or business in north-east Cairo it works very well; anyone who wants the Nile or the pyramids on the doorstep should look at another part of the city.
Why this position
Scores higher than #6 (9.1 to 9.0), on a smaller body of reviews (977 to 1,481).

Four Seasons Cairo At The First Residence
Cairo, Egypt
Enjoying impressive views of Cairo’s skyline and the Pyramids, The Four Seasons Hotel in Cairo’s Gizah district features a full-service spa and outdoor pool. The Nile River is just 100 metres away…
Why this position
Rests on more guest reviews than #7 (992 to 977), at a slightly lower score (8.6 to 9.1).

Nakhil Pyramids Resort
Cairo, Egypt
Peace and quietNakhil Pyramids Resort is a calm retreat for travellers who come to Cairo mainly for the pyramids… It lies in Kafr El-Gabal in Giza, close to the Giza pyramids, and the word guests use most is clean, closely followed by quiet and peaceful. The staff are praised for how well they look after the place and its guests, the pool is a favourite and some rooms look out over it. Family rooms, private balconies and a kids' club make it easy for families to settle in, and guests speak warmly of the food. There are a few small catches. One guest found the breakfast choice limited, another advises patience with room-service orders, though the food was worth the wait, and a third found the bed a little hard. Downtown Cairo and the Nile are also a long drive away. For families and couples who want peaceful days around the pyramids, these trade-offs are minor.
Why this position
Among the three highest guest scores of the 13 hotels we rank here: 9.4 from 146 reviews. Scores higher than #8 (9.4 to 8.6), on a smaller body of reviews (146 to 992).

Kempinski Nile Hotel, Cairo

Marriott Mena House, Cairo
Cairo, Egypt
Near the Grand Egyptian Museum and overlooking the Great Pyramids of Giza, Marriott Mena House, Cairo is surrounded by 40 acres of lush gardens. The hotel features a spa, fitness center, and a pool…
Why this position
Rests on more guest reviews than #11 (1,704 to 1,409), at a slightly lower score (8.7 to 8.8).

Homtel Residence AUC
Cairo, Egypt
Homtel Residence AUC is less a classic hotel than a serviced apartment, and that is its appeal… It sits in the Fifth Settlement of New Cairo, close to the American University in Cairo and Point 90 Mall, and guests describe the street as quiet and the location as convenient, with most things close at hand. Cleanliness comes up in almost every review, along with a warm welcome and staff who go out of their way to help. The kitchenette draws praise, as do the comfortable beds and spacious rooms. The trade-offs follow from the format and the address. There is no pool or spa, and one guest found that only the first room cleaning was included, with later cleans charged extra. New Cairo is also a long drive from Downtown, the Nile and the Giza pyramids. For university visits, business in New Cairo or a longer self-catering stay it works very well; first-time sightseers will be better placed in the west or the centre.
Why this position
Scores higher than #12 (9.0 to 8.7), on a smaller body of reviews (557 to 1,704).

Every hotel counts once, at its own typical price, so hotels we happened to check more often don't carry more weight. Prices are the lowest rate available for the whole stay, worked out per night in euros.

How we chose these hotels
At our latest review (August 2026) the properties listed above were measured against the same standard: sustained guest scores on both Booking.com and Google (weighted by how many reviews sit behind them), five-star class or an equivalent premium level, a first-rate location, and facilities that set the hotel apart.
As a guideline we look for around 8.5 or higher on Booking.com, but no single number decides on its own. When the sources disagree, the broader evidence wins. Guest scores on this page update continuously, and the selection is re-reviewed at regular intervals. The full standard is described in how we choose hotels.
